Managing a team of experienced and new to role technical colleagues, this role has changed and expanded significantly from a single platform and product category to a multi-channel, multi category global role.Key Roles and Achievements: Full engagement with the commercial teams fostering a truly collaborative culture Designing-in good quality and sustainability requirements ensuring right product, right factory. Created and evolved workbook style appraisals and sealing documentation used by global GM team, updated to incorporate GPSR risk assessment. Lead on Product Compliance platform, working with global ‘super users’ to ensure this essential tool is maintained and updated. Instrumental in defining a Critical Path template for seasonal events, to ensure projects stay on track and launch availability is maximised without compromising product quality. Training and development of Technologist and Assistant Technologist, developing technical skills, motivating and driving excellence. Consistently maintained low returns and complaints levels across all product areas though thorough product interrogation at early stages, detailed product evaluation and continuous learning. Maintained a closer to customer culture through regular support of retail colleagues during range change over, giving invaluable insight to how product arrives at store, resulting in changes to transit packaging, reducing waste and increasing efficiency. Supporting on giftable components for food and floral gifts on a ‘consultancy’ basis, advising on compliance and quality requirements, working with food suppliers to ensure Sainsbury’s requirements are full achieved.
