ABOUT MELANIE SMALL
I am a Research Assistant at the Center for Healthy Minds, where I collaborate with a team of experts to conduct studies on the effects of meditation and mindfulness on well-being and resilience. I am also a Hotline Crisis Counselor at Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center (ZSAC), where I provide emotional support and resources to survivors of sexual abuse and violence.My work at ZSAC aligns with my passion for psychology and social justice, which I am pursuing as a Bachelor of Arts student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I have developed active listening and advocacy skills, as well as knowledge of human behavior, mental health, and trauma. I have also gained experience in the travel industry as an intern at Lake Shore Travel, where I helped with customer service, marketing, and booking. I am eager to continue learning and growing as a professional and as a person, and to contribute to the well-being and empowerment of others.
