About Melanie Page
Melanie Page is a writer, director, and producer currently serving her purpose as a storyteller in the world of women’s basketball. Her spark for filmmaking began at a young age making highlight mixtapes of her brother’s basketball dunks which, in turn, expanded into storytelling when her own basketball career ended due to concussion issues. While healing through memory loss, she began to take pictures, videos, and writing, often carrying her camcorder with her everywhere she went so as to not forget a moment of life.Upon graduating from North Carolina A&T, she began producing on projects with ESPN Films and SEC Storied. Her upbringing in the DMV basketball community has inspired her upcoming documentary “Can’t Retire From This” and reinvigorated her passion for cultivating stories of women’s basketball from the past and present to the future and expanding to multifaceted content strategies to tell stories in this realm. Watch her JuJu Watkins documentary series currently streaming on Peacock/NBC.
