ABOUT MELANIE MCNAIR
As the Senior Director of Public Programming at The Center for Fiction, I oversee the development, production, and promotion of more than 85 literary events and programs annually, featuring acclaimed authors, performers, artists, critics, journalists, publishers, and booksellers. With over 9 years of experience in the literary field, I am passionate about creating innovative and engaging experiences that connect diverse audiences with the power and joy of storytelling. I am also a skilled connector, creating and growing partnerships to support the Center\'s mission and vision. I have a strong background in event work, having previously served as the Director of Marketing and Events at Malaprop\'s Bookstore/Cafe, where I organized and hosted hundreds of book launches, readings, signings, and fundraisers. Additionally, I have an MFA and a BA in Creative Writing, and I have taught college courses in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and College Writing.
