I have specialised in construction law for 20 years, working on energy and infrastructure projects in the UK and internationally and devising, drafting and negotiating complex and innovative contract structures. This has included working on some of the largest energy projects in the UK power sector:Offshore wind: advising on the construction contracts for the London Array Offshore Wind Farm (one of the world’s largest offshore wind farm in operation) and on the construction and operational aspects of the £500m OFTO transaction. Currently advising on a number of other large offshore wind farms. Conventional power: leading the negotiation of the construction and operational contracts on a new build CCGT project for Eggborough Power Limited, following similar projects for Carlton Power and RWE. Nuclear sector: acting for the NDA and private sector clients on nuclear decommissioning projects. Low carbon: advising Element Power on their EFR battery storage project, devising the energy performance contracting framework for Peterborough City Council to use on their estate (since adopted by other local authorities). I also lead the construction advice provided to E.ON as part of the firm\'s sole provided mandate, which has included district heating and battery storage schemes.I spent two years living and working in the Gulf as a partner of Pinsent Masons\' Dubai office from 20••••10.
