ABOUT MELANIE BAILEY
A tutor, assessor and IQA with over 20 years experience, gained whilst working in FE and for private training providers. I am a literacy specialist but also experienced in teaching Functional Maths, ICT, Employability Skills and teaching and assessing qualifications. Additionally I have experience in managing a team of assessors on Business Skills qualifications and co-ordinating programmes such as alternative education and Traineeships. The groups of learners I have worked with include; NEET learners, 14-16 year olds, post 16 unemployed, offenders and ex-offenders and people with mental health issues. I understand the needs of learners with learning difficulties and behavioural problems and am able to adapt resources to meet their needs. My excellent communication skills have enabled me to build good working relationships with external agencies such as Job Centre Plus, Positive Steps and also local schools.
