A qualified teacher, I left teaching to work for a drug education charity, before becoming self-employed. With more than 18 years of experience in the field of drug awareness I have enjoyed working with a wide range of organisations to: Develop and deliver Drug Awareness in the Workplace face to face and e-learning courses for employers and employees; Deliver health and wellbeing courses to corporate organisations;Plan and facilitate drug awareness peer mentoring with young people;Devise and implement drug awareness and brief advice courses for the Police,Housing Association and Outreach workers in Nottingham, work commissioned by the Crime and Drug Partnership;Deliver alcohol awareness workshop at Groundwork\'s Girls and Gangs Conference;Plan and deliver drug education in schools; an e-learning course is on its way.Train teachers to deliver primary and secondary drug education.WritingWork includes: Articles for magazines and businesses, for example, Vision Development Consultants, YBCM Designs, Impact Health and Wellbeing and Inside One Magazine;Delivering \'Persuasive Writing for Your Business\' courses;Helping people to write successful tenders;Writing press releases; Educational resources for 9-16 year olds, including SEN pupils;Developing training packages for teachers, police, NHS, armed services, outreach services.TalksInspiring, engaging and insightful!Talks include:‘The Importance of Enterprise’ to young people in schools;‘The Opportunities and Challenges for Working Mums’;Health and Wellbeing talks to organisations;Resilience;Mental Health inside Neonatal;The Value of Teachers of the DeafI am currently learning British sign language as my daughter is profoundly deaf. Her situation has heightened the importance of sign language in removing barriers of communication, when deafness is the third most common disability in the world! It needs to be a language taught in all schools and to all parents and carers who wish to learn.
