Mel Klinghoffer now brings you over 40 years of experience in the PEO industry.Mel Klinghoffer was the Founder and President of A1HR. He sold his interest in A1 to Oasis Outsourcing, the largest private company in the industry. Oasis Outsourcing has since sold to Paychex. At the time he sold, A1HR had in revenue and employees. He agreed to a one-year contract to continue as President and CEO of A1HR and renewed for a second year. He then agreed to an additional 2-year consulting contract and completed his term in April 2020. Prior to his affiliation with A1HR, he was Chairman of the Board of Payroll Transfers, Inc, Payroll Transfers International, Inc. and numerous other related entities which were professional employment organizations that operated in over 40 states and were headquartered in Tampa, Florida from 1989 to 1996.Mel was the primary force behind the success of Payroll Transfers. Within a 7-year period from 1989 to 1996, the company grew in annualized revenue to over $300 million. When he sold Payroll Transfers and its affiliates, the companies had approximately leased employees across the United States. Mel has extensive experience in negotiating labor contracts with client companies and in negotiating benefit programs with insurance carriers. He is known for creating an infrastructure of professional middle managers that are the finest in the industry. In addition, he started MJK Investments, which over the years has made many investments in mostly local companies. He also invested in a Captive Insurance Company in Cayman Islands in which he sold his shares in 2016.In 1989 he started A-1 Temps, Inc. which grew into 10 offices in Florida, Georgia and Washington. He sold A-1 Temps, Inc. to Nesco Resources in August 2011.Mel has often been called “The Grandfather of the PEO Industry”.
