ABOUT MEKDAM NIMA

With both M.Sc. & Ph.D. in Construction Project Management, and B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, Dr. Nima is experienced in buildability, constructability, and Value Engineering in the engineering design and construction of transportation, bridges, buildings, and structure projects. Experienced in managing people and projects (including budget, schedule, and quality). This is in addition to Asset Management and Government Cost Sharing Programs. A proven experienced senior management professional with extensive experience in managing teams on traditional, complex, multi-disciplined projects (including Design-Build and P3 models) around the world. Worked extensively in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Canada, and the USA. Mekdam has managed teams and projects of a myriad of Transportation projects ranging from projects as low as up to $1.80 Billion, throughout all phases of projects. This is including leading 14 Bridge Design Teams involving more than 100 engineers and technicians (across North America) for the pursuit and then the design management after winning the $1.42 Billion Public Private Partnerships (P3), Design Build Finance Operate (DBFO) project of Northwest Anthony Henday (NWAHD), as part of the Ring Road of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Alberta Provincial Highway No. This project is part of the CANAMEX Corridor Project that was established under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Dr. Nima published numerous papers in many professional engineering organizations; including papers for the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and the University of Reading in the UK. Dr. Nima presented many engineering professional presentations to the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC), and the Transportation Research Board in Washington, D.C.(TRB) Conferences, and to the Edmonton Chinese Engineers Society (ECES), University of British Columbia (UBC), British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) and UK Bath University graduate students. Mekdam worked in the management, design, retrofit, and rehabilitation of numerous railway and highway bridges around the world; including the Northwest Territories, Yukon, Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan in Canada. And numerous highway bridges and structures in many other countries including Peru, Iraq, Malaysia, and Papua New Guinea. In addition to projects in California, New Jersey and Utah in the USA.
