ABOUT MEILAN UYENO

I am passionate about the intersection of Biology, Cognitive Psychology, and Leadership. As a student at Claremont McKenna College, I’ve explored this passion through interdisciplinary research, courses, and athletics. Currently, I serve as a lead student researcher at the Umanath Cognitive Memory and Aging Lab, where we study the impact of memory retrieval strategies on aging populations. I am collaborating on a publication with Dr. Umanath and recently presented our findings at the 2024 Psychonomics Society Conference. I also research at the Budischak Disease Ecology Lab, analyzing the effects of environmental factors on parasitic infections, focusing on the ecological and biological implications of disease. At the Kravis Leadership Institute, I organize leadership development conferences for the student body, fostering a community of growth and collaboration among students and industry professionals. As an All-American diver and member of the CMS Varsity Swim and Dive Team, I bring the same discipline and dedication to every endeavor, whether in the lab, at leadership events, or on the diving board.
