I’ve always been fascinated by the invisible battles that happen every day in the realm of cybersecurity. My journey started with a B.Tech in Computer Science and has led me to pursue a Master’s in Cybersecurity & Trusted Systems at Purdue University. This path has not only deepened my understanding of digital threats but also fueled my passion for fortifying systems against them. The thrill of discovering vulnerabilities and transforming them into robust defenses is what drives me every day. In my role as an Information Security Analyst at FIS Global, I took on challenges that turned into significant accomplishments. One highlight was conducting comprehensive vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on various web applications and APIs. By identifying critical risks, I was able to reduce security vulnerabilities by 60%, making a tangible impact on our overall security posture. Additionally, managing the F5 Web Application Firewall at Nykaa allowed me to implement policies that effectively prevented DoS attacks on our company’s assets. I believe that effective cybersecurity isn’t just about technology; it’s about collaboration and communication. During my time with the Bugcrowd community, I worked alongside other security researchers to share insights and strategies, learning how diverse perspectives can lead to stronger solutions. Similarly, my experiences at the Purdue Disability Resource Center taught me the importance of accessibility in tech, ensuring everyone benefits from secure systems.
