Communications Leader - Vancouver Acute @Vancouver Coastal Health

I’m a strategic communicator who partners with clinical, operational and cross-functional teams to celebrate innovations, build trust, awareness and understanding of complexities in the health care system, and help leaders, staff, partners, patients and visitors to hospital sites in Vancouver make sense of change. The sites I lead communications for include one of Canada’s largest hospitals; Vancouver General Hospital, as well as UBC Hospital and G.F. Strong Rehabilitation Centre. My day spans everything from strategy through to execution, issues and crisis management, change management, strategic storytelling, and includes mentoring and leading a small but effective team. In my role I- Develop and roll out communications strategy to launch new programs and services, while acting as an advisor along the way- Advise leaders and coordinate timely responses for sensitive or fast moving situations- Develop the internal communications response for federal and provincial policy changes that impact our programs and sites- Lead staff and patient communications responses on emergency situations impacting an acute care site- Manage the day-to-day internal communications needs of acute care sites- Plan and deliver stories that celebrate people, quality care and innovation.
