About Megumi Call
Hello! I\'m Megumi, a ‘23 Bachelor of Architecture \'24 MBA candidate at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute who is avidly pursuing her career in architecture at Scan2Plan. I’m passionate about strengthening my architectural skillset by pollinating it with cross-disciplinary influences. Examples highlighted in my portfolio are: implementing computer networking concepts into an architectural design (see portfolio, p.08), utilizing parametric design tools (p.39), and working with a team to create an energy visualization software tool (p.43). In addition to my growing architectural skillset, l have experience in management roles, have over five years of mentoring and teaching experience, and have worked on developing marketing and branding materials for a variety of clientele. Over a long weekend or vacation, I can be found trying new eateries or attempting to master an outdoor sport on my bucket list. Current architectural questions I\'m exploring are: How can new computational tools be seamlessly integrated with minimal disruption into an architect/firm\'s workflow, so they consistently produce work ahead of the curve? What are the current gaps in the skillsets of recent B. Arch / M. Arch graduates and the entry-level skills that firms are looking for in candidates? To what extent should architectural innovation be highlighted or concealed in architectural design, and what circumstances should factor in the approach? What are your thoughts? Let’s chat!
