ABOUT MEG SHOEMAKER
I’m a UX Designer and Researcher rethinking digital experiences for innovative organizations. In my previous career as an HR Business Partner, I partnered with Technology and Design teams for 8 years at companies like IDEO and NBCUniversal. I led projects that included:→ Successfully onboarding 80 new employees globally during COVID-19 by designing a remote adaptation of the \"IDEO 101\" orientation experience. The digital artifacts and frameworks created were used to enhance future orientation sessions. → Reduced front-line HR partner workload by designing and building an internal HR Knowledge Base, enabling new change management initiatives as IDEO transitioned to a centralized Talent team. My favorite projects all had a similar form: identifying a pain point, researching the issue, building a strategy, and then making something. After immersing myself in the world of design at IDEO, I pursued UX further, completing Coursera\'s Google UX Design Certificate in 2024. Since then, I’ve freelanced with woman-owned and community-focused organizations, including:→ Launching a 4th of July event website that welcomed 23k unique visitors (10x increase) and attracted 19 sponsors by leveraging market analysis insights and a Facebook-focused engagement strategy.I’m looking for a full-time Experience Designer role that is either fully remote or hybrid (Minneapolis) on an established design team that celebrates diverse experiences.
