About Meg Massey

I\'m a writer, researcher, communications strategist, activist, and all-around nerd who believes that how we fund is just as important as what we fund. I am especially passionate about shifting power and capital to historically overlooked and unserved communities: women and gender-expansive folks, people of color, and refugees. I\'m the co-author of Letting Go, an award-winning book about models for shifting power in philanthropy and investing to communities traditionally excluded from decisions that directly impact their lives. I\'ve spent the last several years working within the global impact investment ecosystem as an independent consultant and on behalf of both domestic and global organizations.I began my career as a journalist and bring that curiosity to how we use, manage, and direct capital - and what the implications are for people and the planet. How do we bring these conversations outside of banks and board rooms and into the mainstream? What are the stories we need to tell, and who needs to hear them?I\'m always happy to connect with others in this space, whether to identify specific opportunities for collaboration or simply share ideas.
