As a senior leader in both human resources and operations areas, my mission is to advance programs, changes, and initiatives that make a real difference to our employees. I help managers to make better decisions, improve their leadership skills, capitalize on talent development opportunities, and pass those benefits on to their direct reports. This makes me a strong, capable leader within human capital management, as well as any other business area and functional group that can benefit from positive change and transformation.Some of my biggest success stories started with a failed project or dropped ball. I’m the go-to person to take on—and then solve—thorny, complex, and multidisciplinary problems. Over the course of my career in the technology and healthcare industries, I have spearheaded dozens of massive-scale projects with a huge variety of stakeholders, strict budget and time limitations, and no clear direction. More importantly, I have a knack for distilling complex ideas into simple explanations that bring clarity to everyone involved.Although I excel in my role as chief of staff, I am even more proud of the impact I’ve made as a leader and developer of people. I believe in treating people like people first and trusting that the business results will follow. To me, this means keeping our work in perspective, emphasizing high-quality execution over velocity, and encouraging collaborative problem-solving when issues do emerge. This approach is also effective for managing large, dynamic budgets: at Red Hat, I have succeeded in meeting our budget targets for four consecutive years.My specialties include: leading with strategic vision and operational excellence; executing strategic initiatives and projects; fostering innovation and growth; building and leading cross-functional teams; consulting and influencing senior leadership teams; and driving excellence in strategic thinking, organization design, process improvement, and talent strategy.

1. Director of HR Strategy and Internal Operations Chief of Staff to the CHRO

   Red Hat

   Apr 2021 — Present · Raleigh, NC, US

   As the right hand to the chief human resources officer, support and enable the entire HR organization, which oversees human capital and talent strategy for 800+ employees in 30+ countries. Lead a team of 10 program managers who deliver projects at the CPO’s direction as well as the People Analytics organization.Key Achievements: Steered optimization of Red Hat’s HR function to align with new goals set by the parent company, IBM. Built a leaner, more focused HR strategy with new strategies for prioritization, communication, and resource and head-count allocation. Led HR to become the only corporate function to meet cost reduction targets, totaling $20M+ saved in four years. Led the 12-person team that executed the first Open HR Conference, which focused on AI in HR. Steered content development and cooperation between three sponsors (Red Hat, IBM, Cisco). Led the team that established Red Hat’s first-ever early-in-career rotation program in the HR function.
