Since August 2019, I have been serving as an APEX Accelerator with the Nebraska Business Development Center (NBDC), where I help businesses—both small and large—navigate government contracting opportunities and thrive in the competitive government marketplace. As part of the Department of Defense’s (DOD) Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP) network and in collaboration with the University of Nebraska Omaha, I assist businesses in connecting to a wide range of federal, state, and local government opportunities.In January 2024, I expanded my responsibilities by joining NBDC’s Innovation and Technology team. In this role, I support small businesses with Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs, offering guidance on proposal writing, federal registrations, and navigating various government procurement processes and innovative opportunities.Key Areas of Expertise:Government Contracting Support:* Assistance with government registrations* Market research & bid/proposal preparation* Compliance with federal and state regulations* Contract performance evaluation and opportunity identificationInnovation & Technology Program Support:* SBIR/STTR application guidance* Intellectual property advisory & federal patent registration* Business model assessments & grant project management* Supporting businesses from ideation to creationBusiness Training & Workshops:* Sessions on SBIR/STTR programs* Intellectual property education* Proposal development & strategic planning workshopsI lead workshops, host networking events, and advocate for the free services provided by the APEX Accelerator and Innovation & Technology teams.
