ABOUT MEGHAN THOMAS

I am an experienced, trilingual Ontario lawyer who has been working in graduate legal education since 2013. In my current position at Osgoode Professional Development, Osgoode Hall Law School, I manage the Professional LLM, which provides graduate legal education designed for experienced lawyers and professionals, and complementary non-credit programs designed for internationally trained lawyers.I have over eight years´ experience as a research lawyer at a national firm, where I provided strategic legal advice, litigation support, and continuing awareness on a broad range of topics. I have worked in legal professional development in the law firm setting and now at Osgoode Hall Law School. I am an experienced and engaging teacher and trainer on skills and substantive topics. In my legal practice, I developed broad knowledge in many areas and particular expertise in areas such as litigation procedure, limitation periods, conflicts of law, consumer protection, and document retention policies. One major focus of my litigation-related work was professional liability cases, especially those involving accountants and auditors. I have advised extensively on contract drafting and interpretation and have a special interest in plain language drafting and legal writing.
