Whirlpool Engineering Rotational Leadership Development (WERLD) Engineer. This 2 year rotational program is focused on developing a strong engineering foundation at different phases of the product development process. The program consists of impactful assignments, global team projects, integrated training, formal coaching and mentoring programs, and the opportunity for a funded technical masters. Rotation 1: Wash Systems Engineer. Reduced the cycle time of combo washer/dryers by optimizing thermodynamic variables for competitive performance. Created sustainable model for predicting the remaining moisture content of clothes for combo machines based on different wash parameters. Rotation 2: New Product Integration (NPI) Engineer - Manufacturing - Built-in Wall Ovens. Gained leadership experience through managing external metrology resources and leading manufacturing team for Design Validation build of 16 units. Designed and implemented new fixture for manufacturing line to increase floor space and line capacity.Obtained OPEX Black Belt Certification by coordinating studies to improve manufacturing processes that impact new production line. Rotation 3: KitchenAid Small Appliances - Advanced Development Engineer. Led advanced developmet project on new food doneness sensor technology for KitchenAid Small Appliances. Quantified metrics for assessing doneness in certain foods, performed competitive market analysis, generated concepts for technologies to assess doneness, and created a working prototype for final concept selection. Designed and created prototype mini toaster oven for consumer use testing to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the product for upcoming development. Rotation 4: Dry Systems Engineer - Dishwashers.
