Established and currently manage a unique research program on Kurdistan, the Kurdish people and the wider Middle East featuring over 30 expert contributors from Syria, Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Europe and the United States- Conducted fieldwork in northeast Syria and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq that resulted in the publication of several reports, including an in-depth 2023 report on U.S. policy options for de-escalation in the Turkish-Kurdish conflict- Led opening of a regional office in Qamishlo, northeast Syria, which established the Kurdish Peace Institute as the first U.S. think tank to have a presence on the ground in this critical region- Regularly brief U.S. government officials, Congressional offices, consulates, and other interested stakeholders on research findings and speak to regional and international media.
