ABOUT MEGHA KATTIMANI

I am a physics major with a bioengineering minor from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). My research focuses on the physics of living systems ranging from cell mechanics and tissue morphogenesis to computational models of organoids and even modelling active matter agents and looking forward to expand my interests.I have worked across leading institutes, including UCL, Max Planck Dresden, IBEC Barcelona, and ENS Paris, contributing to projects on 3D vertex models of organoids, shape programmability in tissues, traction force microscopy, and magnetic tweezers-based single-molecule studies.Beyond research, I led the 50-member iGEM IISc Bengaluru team to a gold medal and nomination for Best Climate Crisis Project, and co-authored a review paper in Proteomes. I also enjoy mentoring high school students and contributing to science outreach.I am passionate about building rigorous theoretical and computational frameworks to understand biological systems, and I am seeking opportunities in PhD programs and research groups working at the interface of physics and biology.
