ABOUT MEGHAN GRADY
Meals on Wheels of RI’s Board of Directors named Meghan Grady executive director in June 2019, chosen to lead the organization toward statewide organizational growth through modernization and increased fundraising support. Just eight months into her tenure, the COVID-19 pandemic forced a shift in daily operations that allowed Meals on Wheels of RI to continue programmatic service without disruption. Under her leadership, the organization has continued to provide its “More-Than-A-Meal” service to thousands of homebound seniors each year and has increased client service by 10-percent over pre-pandemic levels. While working to meet an increased need for the Home-Delivered Meal Program throughout the pandemic, Grady has: • Transformed Meals on Wheels of RI’s technology infrastructure, providing additional safeguards against operational disruptions • With the board of directors, led the organization through a strategic planning process • Led revitalization of fundraising strategy that has increased revenue across non-government channels by 70% over two years• Secured the organization’s first $1 million-plus unrestricted gift • Celebrated delivery of Meals on Wheels of RI’s 20-millionth home-delivered meal • Introduced a culturally responsive meal and medically tailored program Grady’s leadership of Meals on Wheels of RI has been widely recognized across the state and in local media. She has been featured in The Providence Journal, Providence Business News, and on WPRI & The Rhode Show, among many other outlets. She has served as a panelist and guest speaker for various community and civic groups.In 2021, she was named the Woman to Watch: Social Services for the Providence Business News’ Women Awards and has won several other awards in recognition of her work and achievements. Grady is an appointed member of the Governor’s Commission on Aging and a member of the Brown University School of Health Public Community Advisory Board. She is a corporator for BankNewport. Prior to joining Meals on Wheels of RI, Grady was COO for eight years at the YWCA Rhode Island. Grady holds a master’s degree in public administration from Roger Williams University and a bachelor’s degree from Merrimack College. She has participated in executive education programming at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
