ABOUT MEGAN STEFFEN CAMERO

After 15 years as a marketing professional in corporate software and wine companies, I launched Untapped Media Inc. in 2014 to create professional marketing photography, content marketing assets and social media strategies for businesses. In 2024, we opened Mood Board Studios, a photo/video/content production studio rental and meeting space rental in Vallejo, California. It’s dreamy - designed for food, beverage, product and portrait photographers and videographers, but especially designed for my fellow wine photographers.I started my career nowhere near marketing, but my first manager took a chance on a 21-year old who had a good work ethic. From there, I moved myself around and up, following my passions and where I excelled. My journey through Autodesk was an interesting ride, from working with national training centers to managing the extranet to executing marketing plans for the Subscription team. I learned how to be a top performing professional, I learned what work-life balance was truly about, I was exposed to incredible technologies and worked with amazingly talented people. I fell in love with wine. I worked really hard to get a job at a winery, where I would be surrounded by wine and where we would taste wine and where I would learn all about wine. I did, but I also learned quickly that wine is a business and that business is very complicated. An agricultural product that is distributed through a three-tier system is a far cry from software. After working on high-level marketing programs for national retail and on-premise accounts, I created the social media position within the company. I ran the digital marketing for 14+ brands at one company to managing 9 at the next, owning everything from writing content to managing ads to broadcasting programs and promotions to influencer marketing. It was a wild ride. In 2014, I decided to go out on my own. As an in-house digital marketing manager, the ONE thing I needed most was content. I started Untapped Media to provide businesses and brands with custom, branded visual content for their own asset libraries. No more buying stock images that everyone uses.
