About Megan Clark

I grew up wanting to be a writer. I ended up becoming one — just not in the way I imagined. Instead of novels, I write about the crises and policies shaping people\'s lives. Most recently, I served as a Senior Information Officer with USAID\'s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA), where I turned complex humanitarian data into concise, engaging stories for diverse audiences. I deployed seven times to crisis zones across Africa and the Middle East with USAID, working in austere conditions to gather, verify, and synthesize information from multiple sources (often under tight deadlines!) into reports that shaped how senior officials understood rapidly evolving crises. Before USAID, I spent more than five years supporting a refugee resettlement program in New Hampshire, overseeing contracts and budgets, supervising a multicultural team, and providing direct case management to survivors of gender-based violence and others with complex needs. M.A.S. Humanitarian Health, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. B.S. Social Work, University of New Hampshire. PMP candidate.Core Competencies: Policy Writing • Strategic Communications • Program Management • Research & Analysis • Stakeholder Coordination • Cross-Cultural & Interpreter-Mediated Communication • Refugee Services • Multicultural Team Leadership
