ABOUT MEGAN WONG
I am a first-generation graduate from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology. Following my service as a Teach For America 2019 Corps Member, I served as a director at an educational non-profit organization to continue closing opportunity gaps for students. I want to inspire students to believe that their potential is not defined by their circumstances. I believe that teaching culturally and politically relevant content will enable younger generations to rise against systems of oppression. During my undergraduate career, my coursework allowed me to gain a thorough understanding of political ideologies and government systems, while analyzing the relationships and structures of society. Through an internship at the local courthouse, I was able to observe the interrelated impacts of civil and criminal law on society, specifically on people of differing backgrounds and identities.
