WORK HISTORY
Co-founder President @Sheltering Animals Of Abuse Victims Saav
Madison, WI, US
Megan is Co-founder and President of Sheltering Animals of Abuse Victims (SAAV), a volunteer powered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the cycle of abuse within families. Founded in 2001, SAAV plays a unique role in this fight by recognizing the importance of animals as vital family members and arranging for their safe harbor at a time of critical need–when a domestic abuse victim seeks refuge from an abuser. SAAV also raises awareness about the link between animal cruelty and human violence. Megan is a frequent author and speaker on the link. She has been featured for her work in O Magazine and a variety of other publications. In 2019, she was a speaker on the link in Vancouver at a joint meeting of the American Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association. She oversees SAAV\'s operations, outreach volunteers, and foster network.
