ABOUT MEGAN ROMBOLETTI

When I graduated with a degree in Government from the University of Texas, I had no idea where it would take me. My first job with the Texas PTA seemed like a stepping-stone to something in government. What it actually led me to was a career in non-profits. While I took a short break, I was always led back to association management and the appeal of working with members. In my role with the Texas PTA, I had daily contact with their 50-member board and was able to assist at all levels of the association. When working with EventLink International and the NAWBO, I had daily contact with the Chapter Board and members. When I joined the largest chapter of IIDA (International Interior Design Association), I knew it was the perfect fit. As the sole full-time employee, my responsibilities were broad and always evolving. I loved the challenge; the variety of responsibilities, and the chance to further define the role. I also thrived on playing a key role in the growth and success of IIDA. At IIDA, I have worked daily with a 19-member board and have assisted with the smooth transition of 6 IIDA Chapter Presidents. I managed the day-to-day duties of the office and had daily contact with members and partners. I also managed their two, annual signature events. I became an adviser and a resource for the Chapter Board, Members and Partners and expanded my role to include assisting with fundraising/sponsorship as well. The skills and lessons learned are something I hope to take onto my next job. I have grown with each experience and hope to continue to do so in my career in non-profits. I can’t wait to see where these experiences will bring me next! I recently relocated to Atlanta, continue to consult for IIDA, and I am looking for another similar role in Atlanta where I can apply my 8 years of successful, non-profit membership association management experience.
