Successfully completed a 60-hour Science of Reading Certification Program (based on the Walpole and McKenna Reading Instruction program) that included a student practicum - Topics of study include: basic alphabet knowledge (letters and sounds), segmenting/blending (CVC words), letter patterns (word families), blends/digraphs, r-controlled vowels, vowel-consonant-e (magic e), vowel teams, and multisyllabic decoding/mapping (compound words, prefixes/suffixes, syllable types, endings)- Provides one-on-one differentiated, high-dose tutoring instruction to scheduled K-8 students in fifteen-minute blocks, providing baseline diagnostic administration and progress monitoring for each student- Students received 2.83 weeks of instruction for every week they attended my classes.
