Utilize typography to enhance visual storytelling and communicate story concepts. • Collaborate daily with photo, graphic and text editors to craft story pacing that maximizes effective visual storytelling. Keep lines of communication open with collaborative teams, updating them on designs as they go through the layout design process. Also collaborate with the production department to color proof stories to ensure quality. • Provide support on digital initiatives as a UI/UX designer on projects like the Octopus quiz and Design your own seashell, collaborating with creative developers to improve design and user experience. Utilize user testing for projects and prioritize improvements based on user feedback and development impact. • Introduce and guide other designers on UX/UI best practices and processes, emphasizing accessibility. • Concept and design a refresh for National Geographic’s eight digital newsletters under the direction of the Creative Director, emphasizing a cohesive design system that better aligns with the National Geographic brand.
