About Megan Fantes
I am a passionate data scientist known for being exceptionally enthusiastic during meetings. I like to say that data science is the midpoint between statistics and computer science, and I arrive at the middle from the two extremes. With a background in both Statistics and Computer Science, I found my way to data science because of my love of asking questions and building tools to answer those questions. As a Model Risk Data Scientist at SentiLink, I am responsible for model risk management analyses of our core products so I can demonstrate SentiLink\'s mastery of identity fraud detection to our partners. Connect with me if you want to chat about data, fraud detection, or writing efficient code!Previously I was at Klaviyo, where I was responsible for account-level fraud detection. I designed algorithms to detect fraudulent accounts as early as possible, before they could use the Klaviyo platform for nefarious purposes. Before that, I was at iRobot, where I ran the production-level testing of new robot software. I designed experiments, built tools to run those experiments, and visualized the results to guide high-level decision making. Before iRobot, I was at the Software & Application Innovation Lab (SAIL) at Boston University, where I helped design software tools for professors to use to conduct their research. While there, I helped develop an R library for social science researchers to use to implement differential privacy principles in their research, as well as on an ASL language visualization web app.When I am not crunching numbers and creating data visualizations, you can find me sewing, crocheting, at a concert, or attending my favorite events: trivia nights.
