ABOUT MEGAN DRAKE-PEREYRA

Megan Drake-Pereyra is a seasoned leader with over 19 years of professional experience. She currently serves as Assistant Public Health Administrator (Deputy Director) for the City of Bloomington, Minnesota and the Bloomington, Edina, Richfield Public Health Collaboration. Previously, she was the Public Health Infrastructure Advisor at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO), where she managed complex, cross-functional projects and provided expert guidance and capacity building on strategic planning, operational excellence, and foundational capabilities to ASTHO’s members, with a particular focus on its U.S. Territorial and Freely Associated States members.Prior to joining ASTHO, Megan dedicated 13 years to the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). In her role as Performance Improvement Consultant, she offered expert guidance, project management, and training. Her focus areas included strategic planning, quality improvement, performance management, customer focus, and accreditation. As a member of the leadership team, Megan managed multiple programs and staff, spearheading initiatives in training, guidance development, and quality assurance.Megan enjoys helping people, teams, and organizations solve problems, manage change, operate efficiently and effectively, operationalize their visions, and develop sustainable solutions. All of this she does with an eye towards building others’ knowledge, skill, ability, and confidence. Megan\'s diverse experience also spans work in rural and urban local health departments in Minnesota, and in international rural communities. Her expertise covers a broad spectrum of public health domains, including chronic and infectious diseases, environmental health, maternal and child health, epidemiology, surveillance, public health systems and planning, and foundational capabilities. She is proficient in group facilitation, quality improvement, performance management, customer focus, training, assessment, planning, and evaluation. Previously, Megan held certifications as a Certified Health Education Specialist and Six Sigma Green Belt. She possesses extensive professional development in facilitation, strategic planning, and evaluation. Fluent in Spanish, she effectively communicates across diverse populations.Megan believes her career\'s purpose is to foster safe, supportive environments that allow individuals, communities, and organizations to collaborate and measurably improve systems and structures to positively impact the health, well-being, and quality of life of individuals and communities.
