ABOUT MEGAN HILUTA

I am Of Counsel in Quinn Emanuel\'s London office. I advise on high-value competition litigation, commercial litigation and arbitrations, with a focus on technology, media and shareholder disputes. Recent experience includes acting for: private investors in a $500 million dispute pursuant to a share purchase agreement; the Class Representative in £2 billion proceedings against Meta before the Competition Appeal Tribunal; a gambling company in a complex commercial dispute before the English High Court and an arbitral Tribunal; a mining company in various claims before the English High Court. At Quinn Emanuel, we advise on the full spectrum of dispute resolution – from drafting contracts and arbitration agreements, to substantive and procedural submissions, preparing for and attending hearings, through to a final award or settlement. I work closely with QE’s highly regarded partners, including Kate Vernon, Nick Marsh, Paul Baker, Yasseen Gailani and Marina Boterashvili. I act for corporations in arbitrations and litigation under a range of applicable laws (recent experience includes consideration of Mexican, Singapore and Myanmar law) and across the major arbitral institutions (including ICC, LCIA, SIAC and HKIAC).Prior to joining Quinn I spent two years in the International Dispute Resolution team of Squire Patton Boggs, working on a number of high-value arbitrations in the energy sector, after completing my training contract at Allen & Overy. I have a 2.i from St Peter\'s College, University of Oxford (BA, Jurisprudence), a distinction for my LPC at the University of Law, and an LLM in Public International Law from the University of Nottingham, where I focussed on the law of armed conflict and terrorism. In my dissertation I analysed the impact of the actions of the United States and Russia on three elements of public international law: pre-emptive self defence, the use of drones in armed conflict and ambiguous warfare.
