ABOUT MEGAN AVELLANA

Internationalization and education are my passions. I have worked in the higher education field since 2012 and hold a Master of Arts degree in International Education from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Spanish from Baldwin-Wallace College. I studied abroad twice in southern Spain as an undergraduate and completed a study abroad program in India during my graduate program. I am a dual citizen of the United States and the Republic of Slovenia (EU). I have several years of student recruitment and program marketing experience, specifically within the field of study abroad and international student services. Additionally, I have extensive event planning experience, and international program design experience and have worked successfully with diverse groups of students, faculty, staff and advisors. I have worked in four major U.S. cities and am an adaptable, dependable, and culturally competent individual. I have a passion for working with students to ensure their success during their international experiences.I am eager to continue building my career within the international education field and to gain more experience within education abroad and international student services in order to become a leader who is able to enhance internationalization efforts at my institution.Travel is a huge part of my life. Through my work and personal travel, I have visited the following countries: Belgium, Canada, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Guatemala, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Monaco, Morocco, Nicaragua, The Netherlands, Portugal, Peru, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Vatican City, United Kingdom.
