About Megan Riggen

Experienced sales rep, coach, mentor and manager. Real estate investor. Co-founder of Plumber Near Me. I started out in the service industry - serving tables at Cheesecake Factory and lighting cigars at Nicky Blaine\'s. Angie\'s List took a chance on me back in 2013 and saved me from waiting tables for the rest of my life. I spent almost 8 years there. I started out there as a clueless and green young woman who knew nothing about sales. I worked my way to the top within a year - and ended my career there as a sales manager during the pandemic. I moved onto an HVAC manufacturing company as National Sales Manager where I trained and developed sales reps. After a few years in that role, I decided to start my own real estate investing business. I now buy houses you don\'t want - and either re-sell them, buy and hold them, or flip them. During the same time I started the real estate company, my finance and I started a locally owned and operated, full-service plumbing company. At the end of the day, my true passion is helping others. If I am not making a positive impact in the life of at least one other person - I feel that I am failing my calling. The downside to the early stages of self-employment - is the lack of individuals within your organization to have a direct impact on. I miss directly impacting my employees on a daily basis. Seeing their personal growth, income growth, and overall life trajectory shift - is something you cannot put a price tag on. I love people. I love motivating, inspiring and encouraging others. I love the feeling of being needed. It\'s what wakes me up in the morning. Serving others. Being someone else\'s reason for waking up. Being the sunshine someone needed to make it another day, hour or minute. My favorite thing to do as a sales manager was giving pep-talks. True management is not actual management. It\'s coaching, mentoring, motivating and encouraging. Managing is the residual of the true job. When you develop a relationship with your people - there\'s not much management left. They don\'t want to let you down.
