ABOUT MEGAN RIGBY

Bachelor of Arts Graduate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a major in Communication Studies and a focus in Health Communications. I have a strong interest in healthcare and finding ways to improve communication between patients and healthcare providers. From having worked in customer service for more than five years, taken health-related courses, and demonstrated leadership and communication skills, I started my professional internship at American Heart Association.My work and school experience has furthered my interest in health communication and I want to use my skillset to help improve the community. Through a degree in health communication, I hope to learn about the latest communication strategies and techniques that are being used to foster patient engagement, enhance health literacy, and reduce health disparities. Pursuing a career in health communication would allow me to combine my passion for healthcare with my skills in communication to make a positive impact on the lives of patients and providers. I am excited about the prospect of working in a field that is constantly evolving and that has the potential to make a real difference in the world.
