About Megan Oboyle

My career is grounded in lived experience. For over two decades, I was the primary caregiver and advocate for my daughter, who had a rare genetic syndrome and participated in clinical trials and research studies until her passing at age 23. That journey gave me a firsthand understanding of the challenges patients and families face—navigating fragmented systems, communicating with providers, accessing appropriate care, and participating in research that often wasn\'t designed with them in mind.Today, I use that perspective to help industry, researchers, and healthcare stakeholders build more inclusive, effective, and patient-centered strategies across the research and care continuum. I specialize in patient and caregiver engagement, clinical trial design, recruitment and retention, health communication, and the collection and dissemination of research-ready patient data—especially within rare and underserved communities.My goal is to amplify the patient voice and remove barriers between communities and science—so that research isn\'t just done to patients, but with them.
