ABOUT MEGAN NEVELS

Megan has worked in the fields of education, the arts, and anti-bias facilitation for over fifteen years. As Program Director of ADL West, Megan leads all programming for Jewish communities across 10 regions and leads antisemitism summits for K-12 education leaders. In her previous role as Education Director, Megan managed all aspects of ADL\'s anti-bias and antisemitism programming within K-12 schools across Southern California. Prior to joining ADL, Megan developed all programming for Transitional Kindergarten-Grade 12 educators at the Skirball Cultural Center, including a summer storytelling intensive and a year-long arts integration professional development program focused on community-building and social activism. As a theatre educator and teaching artist in Austin, Pacoima, and Greater Los Angeles, Megan worked with youth in juvenile justice facilities, camp to community re-entry programs, and under-resourced schools in severely underserved communities.Megan has a B.A. in Theatre Performance from Pitzer College and an M.F.A in Drama and Theatre for Youth and Communities from the University of Texas at Austin. Her MFA thesis, OUR Stories of L.A: Youth Constructing Counter- Narratives through Devised Performance, received the top thesis award at University of Texas at Austin and a national research award from the American Alliance for Theatre Education (AATE).
