ABOUT MEGAN MONTINOLA

A passionate Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Illinois at Chicago with a strong foundation in technical innovation and healthcare technology. Currently serving as a Teaching Assistant while maintaining a 3.8 major GPA, I combine academic excellence with hands-on experience in medical device development and clinical observation. My diverse skill set spans multiple engineering disciplines, including- Medical device prototyping and development - Medical device FDA and ISO standards - Programming (Python, C++, C#, MATLAB, Arduino IDE)- 3D design and manufacturing - Virtual Reality development for healthcare applications - Circuitry design and troubleshooting As a Clinical Immersion Program Intern at UIHealth, I gained valuable healthcare industry exposure through operating room observations, leading to innovative solutions in kidney stone extraction procedures. My current role at the UIC Makerspace has strengthened my expertise in advanced manufacturing technologies and project management. I\'m actively involved in fostering diversity in engineering as the Communications Chair for the Society of Women Engineers, while also participating in cultural organizations that demonstrate my commitment to community building and leadership. As a part of my commitment to foster outreach and knowledge to other students, my position as a Teaching Assistant in Biomedical Engineering manifests this.
