About Megan McQuery
I\'ve spent my career connecting people to something bigger. Today, that means serving as COO at the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce, where more than 500 businesses grow and shape the Dallas community. The path here wasn\'t straight, and that\'s the point.The path here wasn\'t straight. I started in anthropology because I wanted to understand why people do what they do. That curiosity led me to museum curation and then to fashion history, where the question got sharper: what story are we telling about ourselves and our community through what we wear?Every chapter was really the same work. Storytelling. Helping people see themselves as part of something larger. Finding the thread that connects individual experience to community.That\'s what drew me to the chamber a decade ago, and it\'s what keeps me here. Businesses don\'t just build products and revenue. They build the community around them. Helping Dallas businesses do that well, and do it together, is the work I came here to do.As COO, I lead the operations that make community possible: major conferences, communications, committee oversight, member strategy, facilities, and budget. I\'ve built programs from scratch and grown from associate to vice president to this role. I\'ve guided the organization through a tornado and a pandemic. The work is bigger now. The purpose is the same.What I carry from every chapter is the same instinct: help people see the whole story, not just the chapter they\'re in. That turns out to be exactly the work of a chamber of commerce, and exactly the mission at NDCC: make Dallas a better place to live, work, raise a family, and build a business.Areas of focus: nonprofit operations, association management, member engagement, event strategy, community development, strategic communications, public affairs, board governance, organizational leadership.
