I am an Assistant Professor of Communication and Media at Ohio Northern University. My academic research and teaching focus on media, culture, and U.S. politics. I currently serve as an executive board member of both the Cultural Studies Association and the international Association for Cultural Studies, as an associate editor for the Journal of Cultural Economy, and as a chapter advisor for Lambda Pi Eta-the honor society of the National Communication Association.I also work as a consultant with Vocable Communications: a full-service firm made up of expert researchers driven by data and focused on teachable, context-specific best practices. The Vocable team specializes in multiple key areas of communication, including executive presence, communication for data scientists and other technical specialties, organizational storytelling, connecting with clients, presentation techniques, conflict communication, and communicating change and transformation.
