ABOUT MEGAN JONES

I graduated from Youngstown State University in 2017 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, where I also served as the Historian for the Hospitality Management Society. During my time at YSU, I completed two internships with The Walt Disney Company through the Disney College Program, gaining experience in Quick Service Food & Beverage, Hospitality at Port Orleans Resort, and Attractions at Epcot. Later, I advanced into a Professional Management Internship with the Front Office Team at Caribbean Beach Resort, which eventually lead to a full-time leadership position which I held until 2022. At Caribbean Beach, I had the opportunity to support my team during the grand reopening of our lobby, Old Port Royale, after an 18-month refurbishment. Additionally, I became a Programs Champion, acting as a liaison for Disney College Program Cast Members. In 2021, I joined the leadership team at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort & Spa, where I contributed to Disney\'s partnership with the NBA and the G-League. In response to the challenges of the pandemic, I chose to pursue an MBA focused on Leadership and Development at my alma mater, Youngstown State University, and graduated in May 2022. After completing my MBA, I transitioned from Disney and returned to my hometown of Erie, PA, where I joined the Courtyard Erie Bayfront as the Front Office Manager, quickly advancing to Director of Front Office Operations. In late 2023, I made a strategic career shift from hospitality to the public sector, stepping into an HR Generalist role that centers on recruitment, training, and employee retention.
