Strategic Leadership & Organizational Development-Launched Office of Resilience (OOR), defining the theory of change for integrating climate resiliency and sustainability design practices-Develop and track OOR resilience and sustainability key performance indicators, analyze performance metrics, and present progress to County leadership-Coordinate with Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact. Resilient Infrastructure & Sustainable Programs-Implemented the PBC Resiliency & Sustainability Capital Construction Manual, training staff on analyzing climate risks and identifying resilience and sustainability construction practices. Produced an accompanying interactive checklist to streamline design integration-Produced PBC’s Resilience Action Plan that includes a net zero energy feasibility assessment and identifies 30 resilience infrastructure and building projects-Secured over $6M in competitive federal and state grants for OOR resilience projects and provided technical assistance that helped secured $53M for County drainage projects-Collaborate with academic and local government partners to translate complex science into regional tools, including Unified Sea Level Rise Projections and Climate Indicators-Conducted rigorous, data-driven climate vulnerability assessments, partnering with 17 PBC municipalities and providing technical assistance to all 39 PBC municipalities.Policy & Governance-Develop PBC’s federal and state climate policy legislative platforms-Present policy and legislative recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners to secure approval.Communications & Outreach-Cultivate relationships with PBC leadership and community stakeholders to implement climate resilience programs-Conduct stakeholder workshops, monthly newsletters, social media, and press releases-Coordinate and facilitate Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact Annual Leadership Summits.
