ABOUT MEGAN GALBRAITH

Megan moved to Vancouver, BC after university graduation, saw a job posting for a receptionist position at Rhythm and Hue\'s new Vancouver location, and jumped at the chance to get her foot in the door. Taking every opportunity to learn from artists, watch tutorials, and test software, Megan worked her way into a position as a production coordinator. In February 2013, Megan took her skills to MPC Vancouver in February of 2013, where she worked as a production coordinator in the lighting department. This was a great opportunity to know the in\'s and out\'s of a department structure, and Megan had the chance to work on many excellent films and with a variety of talented people. In May 2014, Megan moved to Scanline VFX, where she coordinated the roto, paint, tracking, and rotoanim departments. Here, she had the chance to get to know the in\'s and outs of the outsource vendor and I/O processes. Megan is currently working at Sony Pictures Imageworks in Vancouver. Upon hiring, she continued her duties as a coordinator for roto, paint, tracking, and matchmove on a bigger scale on Alice 2, coordinating over 1600 shots! Megan was promoted in March 2016, and is now an Associate Production Manager for the 2D Department, overseeing roto, paint, matchmove, and rotomation for all VFX shows in the studio. Additional responsibilities were taken on in 2018, including being the vendor outsource department with legal, security, and finance, actively taking part in the bidding process. Being at Sony has given Megan the opportunity to explore production on CG Features, which is a path she is eager to continue to explore. Brought on as a \"911\" addition to shows, she has helped deliver multiple CG Features in their last months of work, in CFX, FX, and Lighting departments. In between show-based opportunities, Megan has had the opportunity to fill various exciting positions on short term bases, upon request. Most recently, she was the temporary Manager of Facilities and Operations from June to November of 2020, while SPI was looking for a permanent replacement, as she preferred to stay in show production long-term. Expanding her knowledge base, this was an experience that led to a more well-rounded knowledge of the entire facility, working hand in hand with artist management, systems, security, building vendors, people and organization (HR), and SPE Corporate.
