ABOUT MEGAN ELYSE BONTEMPO
Megan Bontempo is a design researcher and creative leader driven by curiosity about how people navigate the systems that shape their lives. Her work focuses on understanding complex human needs and translating those insights into products, services, and strategies that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Over the past decade, Megan has led participatory and co-design research with communities around the world. Her work has taken her from boardrooms in Dubai to bustling markets in Bangladesh and recording studios in Kenya. Prior to joining IDEO, she worked with social impact–focused design organizations including IDEO.org, where she led cross-cultural research focused on expanding access to sexual and reproductive health services for women, girls, and teens.Megan believes the best solutions emerge when the people most affected by change are involved in designing them.She lives in Oakland with her partner and daughter. What her resume won’t tell you is that much of what she knows about human behavior she learned while working in restaurants.
