About Megan Elder

Hi there! My name is Megan Elder, nice to meet you Here’s a bit about my work experiences and how they have shaped me as a professional and as a person I’ve played oboe and saxophone since I was ten years old, and have spent decades participating in all kinds of music ensembles. My experiences as a musician have enabled me to develop perseverance, dedication, teamwork, and a growth mindset. 🧑‍ I spent ten years as a music educator in a variety of settings, ranging from elementary chorus to high school marching band. In my work differentiating instruction for all different types of learners, I developed a knack for asking questions to fully understand a student’s needs, struggles, and motivations. I collaborated with more than a dozen unique teams of teachers and administrators. 🧑‍ In my “free time,” I’ve created, marketed, and sold digital music education resources on the Teachers Pay Teachers website since 2013. I’ve learned about content creation, marketing, customer service, and seen education from a different perspective. Oh, and I’ve learned how great passive income is! 🧒 I’ve been a mom for four years, and I’m learning new things every day. The experience of raising a child has deepened my sense of empathy and increased my capacity for patience. Co-managing a household with a child has turned me into an expert communicator and time & task manager. 🧒 In my experience as a UX Researcher, I’ve planned and owned projects end-to-end, collaborated with researchers as well as designers, engineers, and product folks, and learned how to choose and employ different methodologies. I discovered my interest in research operations and enjoyed owning several ops tasks for the research squad. I love to learn, I love to organize, and I love talking to people. The combination of my life and work experiences has made me an independent worker AND a team player, a self-starter, a forever learner, and above all - ready for my next adventure.
