They weren’t quite a teacher. Not quite a coach. Not quite a manager.They were a Learning & Development professional.And just like that, I had found my lane.Over the years, I’ve built my career from Corporate Sales Facilitator to Instructional Designer, to Manager of Instructional Design, to Director of Learning & Development for a national brand.Today, I’m the Founder of GEM Learning Consultants, where I partner with multi-unit restaurant and retail brands to turn operational complexity into clear, scalable training systems.We build learning ecosystems — not just courses.We create structure where there’s chaos.We design strategy, not just slides.Because great training isn’t about checking a box.It’s about helping teams build skills, confidence, and momentum that actually show up on the floor.And yes… I still believe in celebrating progress.(Though I wouldn’t turn down an apple every now and then.)
