ABOUT STEVE HARRIS
After four decades in Technology - spanning hands-on technical roles through to Director, interim VP, and CIO - I’ve seen how new technologies succeed, stall, or quietly create risk. That perspective now shapes how I work with organisations adopting GenAI. GenAI stops feeling fragmented and confusing. Leadership teams develop a shared understanding of what matters, what doesn’t, and where to focus next. Decisions are deliberate, documented, and defensible. Leaders can explain why a path was chosen, even as conditions change. Organisations move forward without rushing, using guardrails, off-ramps, and clear criteria for scaling or stopping experimentation. GenAI conversations shift from hype to substance, grounded in governance, intent, and practical understanding. GenAI stops being a background worry. Fewer ad-hoc decisions, less tool sprawl, and more focus on outcomes that matter. Benefits are captured early, with controls that limit exposure and align progress to risk tolerance. My background spans hands-on technologist, Technical Architect, Project Manager, IT Management, Director(s), and interim VP & CIO roles. Alongside this, I’ve completed extensive AI certification and training across IBM, Google, AWS, and Microsoft, and continue to stay hands-on with emerging AI capabilities. I’m particularly interested in where GenAI delivers real organisational value - not just novelty - and how it can be adopted in ways leaders won’t regret later.
