My work as clarinet faculty for Nyack College involves teaching clarinet, woodwind methods, and ear training. As faculty I help students devise practice techniques, recognize western music fundamentals, and pinpoint successful performance strategies. Students learn how to approach woodwind methods for the students by providing clear instruction and tips in producing a sound to understanding how to introduce band methods in their music classroom. In addition to instructing, I initiated performance and outreach opportunities to motivate the students to serve their community through music. Students and faculty have given performances at the residences of the Hope Lodge Cancer Center in New York. As faculty I perform alongside my colleagues to show case concert performances in the neighborhood of the financial district.

ABOUT MEDINA CLARINETIST
Greetings and welcome! My name is Medina and I live #theCreativeLife! I make your music and performances come alive I’m a clarinetist, chamber musician, music educator and content creator. I am based in NYC - specifically Jackson Heights, Queens. My mission in life is to ignite the senses and create curiosity and community through performance and content creation. My superpower: is bringing people together through the love of music and my choice of weapon is the clarinet. As a performer, my job is to mystify my audiences and create an experience and dialogue through performance- my specialty is art music, multi disciplinary performance and chamber music. As an educator, I teach all ages and ability levels. I specialize in clarinet, chamber music and concert clinician work for bands. I\'ve taught on both coasts of the United States as a teaching artist and clinician. I inspire audiences, music enthusiasts and students through the power of music and #creativity.
