ABOUT ANNA F MEDINA
Anna Medina is a Mexican-American dancer, teacher and choreographer that hopes to inspire and empower her students and audience through her work. She completed her BA in Political Science in Boston College and participated in local government as a Council Representative and Arts Organization liaison in the City of San Diego. Her work with the San Diego community inspired her to continue researching the effects of dance education for youth living in low income neighborhoods and the importance of government funding in these communities. She is currently furthering her education by pursuing a Masters in Fine Arts in Dance at UC Irvine in California. She is a Teacher’s Associate and teaches Jazz 1 for non dance majors virtually, as well as Advanced Jazz in her home studio. Her Masters program has allowed her to choreograph for several dance concerts presenting her work virtually and on stage.Anna began her dance training in Tijuana, Mexico with classes in classes in ballet, jazz, tap, flamenco, contemporary, and hip hop. As a dancer she participated in several international competitions, dance intensives and video performances. She was a dancer and board member in the Boston College Dance Ensemble for four years and she has been teaching and choreographing for over ten years. Anna\'s interests include dance, politics, international relations, public speaking, sales and the arts.
