ABOUT MEAGHAN MCGRATH

Meaghan McGrath has established herself as one of the leaders in a complex and evolving sector. She is an award-winning lawyer with 25 years of experience in international financing and is currently Global Head of Partnerships for the International Finance Corporation (IFC). She was formerly Global Head, Syndications and before that Chief Counsel, Debt Mobilization. Her work on debt mobilization and investment projects in emerging markets around the world has been a benefit to investors and developing countries alike. After graduating from Georgetown University Law Center, Meaghan McGrath took a position in project finance at law firm Chadbourne & Parke (now Norton Rose Fulbright), representing international investments in large infrastructure projects. She spent two years in India, implementing and expanding a foreign office and representing independent developers in energy projects, becoming the first US trained, female lawyer to practice in the region. She returned to the US and in 2001 began working for IFC, one of the largest private sector investment groups and member of the World Bank. She has since led teams that have raised over $ 20 billion from institutional and commercial investors to finance projects in emerging markets. Meaghan McGrath\'s various expertises have solidified her role as a versatile and adaptive contributor to international financing in its many aspects. Raising funds from institutional investors means understanding their needs and addressing obstacles to investment desires. Meaghan McGrath’s comprehensive experience with law, finance and business allows her to works with clients, corporations and external legal counsel, giving or receiving advice in order to reach the best financial decisions. Meaghan McGrath has expanded her range of insight to industries such as power, water, telecommunications and transportation.
